120 Units
This program trains specialists who can perform case work with individuals, groups and communities and who have a solid grasp of both the theories and the social and political contexts surrounding social work. Through a combination of classroom instruction and two full practicum sessions, students learn to apply intervention techniques in the context of issues linked to poverty and social inequalities (based on sex, ethnicity, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
This program is offered in French only.
The French immersion stream is available with this program.
The In-depth Experiential Learning Stream is compulsory with this program.

In-depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS)
You must meet the following requirements to receive a designation of “In-depth Experiential Learning Stream” on your diploma:
- Complete the requirements of a program of study which offers the In-depth Experiential Learning Stream.
- Complete at least 30 course units (10 courses) of IELS labelled courses including:
- FSS 1300;
- 21 compulsory course units (7 courses) in social work (TSO) labelled EILS;
- 6 optional course units (2 courses) in social work (TSO) at the 3000 level labelled EILS.
