The microprogram in Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides students with an interdisciplinary perspective of AI and related technologies. Enrolling in this microprogram is ideal for students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in acquiring knowledge around the scope and limitations of AI. Students will deepen their knowledge in machine learning and data science while reflecting on the ethical and societal implications of AI, thereby enabling them to acquire new skills for professional and career enhancement purposes, notably when acting as knowledge translators.
The registration process for a Microprogram depends on your student status.
Students already admitted and enrolled in a graduate program
Students wishing to pursue a graduate program must apply for, and be admitted to, their graduate program before they enroll in a second graduate microprogram identified within their existing program.
If you have already enrolled in a graduate studies program and would like to add a microprogram to your program of study, contact your faculty’s graduate studies office.
Students enrolled in an undergraduate program
Students enrolled in an undergraduate program may apply for permission from their undergraduate program to complete the graduate microprogram in Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence as part of their undergraduate degree if they have completed MAT 1371, MAT 1372, MAT 1373, MAT 2375, MAT 2377, MAT 2379, ADM 2303, HSS 2381 or PSY 2106, and three additional courses at the 3000 level or higher with a GPA of 8.0 or higher.
Non-degree students
Students pursuing a Graduate Microprogram, without being admitted to or intending to complete a graduate program, must obtain the prior approval of the academic unit offering the Graduate Microprogram.
If you would like to enroll in a microprogram without being admitted in a graduate studies program, send an email to the Graduate Studies Office of the Faculty of Engineering and include the following documents:
- CV
- Copies of transcripts from all universities you have attended
- Add any additional documents requested for the microprogram
