There is an explosion in the availability of geospatial data, ranging from satellite and drone imagery through Google Street View to volunteered data from cell tower records and smartphone apps. The analysis of such data is a rapidly growing industry. In the Environmental Data Science microprogram students will learn the fundamentals of geospatial data analysis, including core statistical concepts and how to work with them in the R statistical programming environment, as well as a suite of advanced techniques specific to analysis of spatial data. After completing the program students will be confident to undertake substantial analysis of many kinds of geospatial data, and will be well prepared to continue their learning through other avenues.
The registration process for a Microprogram depends on your student status.
